Blog is so easy to create. It is the most convenient event-keeping record of all time. I started with one blog, and then the other, and now I have probably more than I can manage. I use blogs for different purposes, as you will see. The other great aspect of blogs is the opportunity to communicate with people. Most of my blogs are still private, or at least not advertised that much, so I can't really say I use the opportunity. But the excitement when someone has a comment on your words is thrilling.
Only Words blog was created for a course that I was taking at UBC. It was a part of my Ph. D. program in Language and Literacy. It was my attempt to go back to writing more, as I used to do for a long time. It contains a lot of references to people from the class, our instructor, Dr. Carl Leggo, whom I am extremely grateful for letting us explore and swim comfortably in uncomfortable waters.
Reshuffling Realities is a journal of ideas before I applied to a Ph.D. and during my program. I was interested in creative writing in this new era that we all live in. Intrigued by the possibilities of digital, I have started experimenting with different forms of writing and representation, thinking about intertextuality, the presence of visuals and risk of cognitive overload.
Ladies' Nights is still under construction. There is a group of about 5-6 ladies, my friends, who occasionaly get together and have some fun. We have met twice this year, but I hope that more is to come. I would like this blog to become our online space where we can meet and chat, if we cannot find the time to see each other in Vancouver.
The new blog that is just coming will be a common one with my colleagues from UBC about gaming. I'll keep you posted...
